Enjoy your holiday with the confidence that your holiday home is covid-safe: The house is always kept scrupulously clean by our excellent handover team, and is spacious enough to be a low-density low-intensity habitation. In addition to our normal cleaning protocols, our cleaners' preparation checklist nowadays also includes cleaning some surfaces (e.g. door handles, doorbell, oven knobs, taps, toilet flush buttons, toilet seats) with bleach which then rapidly evaporates without leaving any odour. Fresh air and sunshine helps too. From your front or back door you have ready access to the wide open fields and beaches of this beautiful area. If booking The Crescent, the double-house layout allows more options than in most other large houses in choosing how distanced your groups are from each other, and safely to enjoy the wide open spaces nearby. Complying with the letter of the law is not enough - you also need to comply with the spirit of the law. You are very welcome to book our houses if you will be acting to minimise the risk of transmission of coronavirus. |
The Buttery and Cromlech House are two self-catering holiday homes in the wonderful village of Mortehoe, North Devon. Near to Woolacombe and Croyde surfing beaches and surrounded by National Trust land, Mortehoe has something for everyone at all seasons of the year.

- Views to sea and to fields, but in the heart of an amazing village with 3 excellent pubs.

- Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB ), Unesco Biosphere reserve, conservation area, surrounded by National Trust farmland.
- Near to Mortehoe and Woolacombe Golf Club, Willingcott Golf Club, Saunton Sands and others.
- In high season we normally rent out for multiples of 7 days, with Friday changeover. But we are often able to be flexible.
We bought this former 10-bedroom double-sized house in the village's Victorian 'crescent' in July 2010.
The Buttery (5 bedrooms) and Cromlech House (4 bedrooms) are now our own much-loved family holiday homes and are also available for rent. The two houses are now used as large self-contained properties, and also used together as a 9-bedroom unit called 'The Crescent'.
These are capacious houses. Rent is per property not per occupant, but the equivalent per-person-per-night rates can be less than £10 per-person-per-night in low season for a weekly rental. In high season the rents adjust for higher demand.
